I’m going to talk about my personal opinion today. If you don’t agree with me that’s ok. But I hope you will take the time to keep reading and consider a different point of view.
I see patterns of cause and effect in our current lifestyle. There are probably many many more instances that could be included here, but I want to talk about a specific pattern and how I see it affecting life today.
Are you aware back in the 60's when the government erroneously told Americans to stop eating red meat and saturated fats because they assumed that since American's had more heart disease than the Japanese and they ate more red meat that this was the cause. This was actually incorrect based on faulty information and didn't account for at least 7 other countries who ate more red meat and had less heart disease.
Fast forward 20 years into the 80's and suddenly Americans have chronic skin cancer and other skin ailments. Everybody starts blaming the sun... so then they have to stay out of the sun, wear long sleeves and push the use of sunblock.
Another 20 years later, chronic diseases are rampant.
Another 20 years…. It's no longer a question, if you have prescription meds, but how many and or what. Almost everyone is on numerous different medications to help with symptoms of disease after disease after disease and chronic disease, many that can be linked to a deficiency of vitamin D.
Because people avoided sunlight they have high cholesterol….
because their bodies are not converting cholesterol into vitamin D….
because they don't go out in the Sun….
because they didn't eat enough omega 3 fatty acids in their diet so the body can protect themselves against sun damage. The SAD (standard American diet) is very high in Omega 6 fatty acids and deficient in Omega 3 fatty acids.
Everything we do in society has a repercussion down the road. It is the same thing with your immune system. Our immune system, just like the tree growing roots, needs to be challenged.
A tree won't grow roots to support its own height or to stand up to a storm if it doesn't have regular wind resistance to tell it that it needs to grow more roots- the same thing happens with your immune system. If you don't keep challenging it with regular exposure to minor bacteria and viruses, it's going to be a lot weaker when it hits something really big.
The same analogy can be used in muscles. If you break your leg and have it in a cast and use crutches, once you get the cast off, the muscles have atrophied from lack of use.
Muscles and the immune system need to be used to stay strong.
Take back control of your own health and wellness.
When we give the body what it needs to be healthy…quality nutrients, vitamins, minerals, exercise, sleep, sunlight, fresh air… it knows how to take care of itself.
Diet is not a one size fits all. You have to listen to your body when it’s giving you feedback from the foods you eat. Immune function and healthy bodies can be built and strengthened naturally the way nature and God intended.
